Taveuni has proven to be a mecca for expatriates who visited on holiday and decided to relocate to this enchanting tropical island in Fiji. Some have turned their homes into private villa rentals, giving holidaymakers the chance to experience life out of the fast lane. In the Matei area, they often have a private beach. Most have staff to greet you, cook for you if you wish and maintain the house and garden. • Matei Pointe - on the northernmost tip of Taveuni, it offers 220 degree ocean views and has a private beach frontage. Comprising a large main house, or choose the Sunset Bure (cottage) or the Somosomo Bure. On-site staff - Pita and Lo - are there to assist.
  
  
• Marau Vale - this villa is at Matei also. Privately located on 2 acres of tropical gardens and right on the private beach. One of the excellent features of the two-bedroomed Marau Vale is its one hundred square foot rock-walled outdoor shower overlooking the gardens and ocean but still offering complete privacy.
  
  
• Vale Sekoula - nearby at Matei, Vale Sekoula has well-maintained landscaped tropical gardens, private pool, and outdoor shower. Perfect when you return from the villa's private beach. Well-equipped kitchen and outdoor bbq grill.
